Even though it was the height of the summer the beach was almost deserted apart from a family climbing over the rocks to Tolls Island and a lone tent which may or may not have been occupied, I wasn’t going to go up to it and find out. Bant’s Carn comprises of an 8m diameter tomb and a 5m by 1.5m chamber made by rocks, covered in soil and grass to blend in with the downs.
